New Release: MSCHF Big Red Boots inspired by ‘Astro Boy’

Unless you’ve been living under a rock these past few days, you’ve definitely seen MSCHF’s big, red Astro Boy inspired boots.

The boots went immediately viral after being seen on the likes of Drake’s muse, Suki, and basketball player, Shai Gilgeous Alexander – a smart marketing move on the part of the Brooklyn based art collective. The boots have been all over our timelines, receiving extremely mixed reviews regarding the arguably ‘simple’ style with an elevated price.

The cartoonish style boots look like something straight out of Osama Tezuka’s manga series ‘Astro Boy’, with its distinct red colour and spherical silhouette. The boots are made entirely from rubber TPU, with an EVA sole stamped with the MSCHF logo.

As a brand, MSCHF are not afraid of pushing boundaries with their designs. They are known for their out-of-the-box footwear, like the TAP3 trainers or Wavy Baby ‘Vans’. However, the Big Red Boots are here to take centre stage as being their most striking design yet.

Though leaked online on February 6th, the show stopping red boots will be officially released via MSCHF.com on February 16th 11am EST (4pm GMT) for $350, approximately £290.

What do you think, is it a cop or a drop?
