Following Olubiyi Thomas' previous Spring/Summer 2022 collection, Let it Rain, the Spring/Summer 2023 Phoenix Rising is an organic progression for the designer. The Phoenix is the emblem of the collection which in various cultures symbolises transformation, reincarnation, and resurrection. Wild and powerful, the mythological creature is often depicted and associated with fire and ash, which are encoded in the main themes and shades of the collection.

Union Jack Fashion: What Does It Mean Today? Fashion Union Jack Fashion: What Does It Mean Today?

There’s no doubt that wearing Union Jack apparel has a connection to Great Britain, but we can argue that fashion has repurposed the meaning of the flag. The print can range from being purposefully disrespectful to the intended meaning to just showing appreciation to British culture separate from politics.

The British Public’s Favourite Trends. Fashion The British Public’s Favourite Trends.

It’s not just everyone’s favourite, eye-roll-inducing Y2K nostalgia craze making waves anymore. Principal partner of London Fashion Week, Clearpay, a buy now, pay later platform, released its Bi-Annual Fashion & Beauty Trend Report last month, pinpointing a spike in the popularity of 60s and 70s inspired pieces. Please, No More Fashion Collaborations. Fashion Please, No More Fashion Collaborations.

We have all become accustomed to collaborations, but putting price points aside, can we really say that the latest collaborations between high fashion houses and sportswear brands have been nothing more than a slight extension of said brands’ aesthetic and identity transferred onto a silhouette from a sporting brand’s archives? The answer is no.

The NBA Is Collaborating With Luxury Fashion In A Big Way. Fashion The NBA Is Collaborating With Luxury Fashion In A Big Way.

Bringing people around the world together in the name of sport, brands have routinely tapped players like Russell Westbrook, PJ Tucker or LeBron James, who are known for their off-the-court style in their campaigns. The success of these campaigns have been a key driver in the NBA’s move into the luxury market. As players are often in Louis Vuitton, Prada, Dior and other luxury fashion houses, with this collaboration, the NBA is formalising its ties with luxury fashion brands.
