Fia Moon [@fiamoonmusic] lets us know there will be ‘better days’
What could be more fitting at the moment than a track called ‘better days’?
The universe works in strange ways, and despite Fia Moon‘s ‘better days’ being about love, it’s message works beyond that scope at the moment. The track is just the start of things to come from the emerging talent, as it is just the first of six singles already planned to drop. The Dublin born but London based talent is kicking off her year with a bang for sure. Having slowly but surely been ramping up her buzz 2020 looks like the year for Fia to really stamp herself on the music scene.
Fia may be new to audiences as an artist, but she is no stranger to music having been performing since she was five years old. Her parents cultivated her love of music, her dad being a musician himself and her mum being a music teacher, so it was inevitable that she would take the leap herself. Having that support and strong musical influence around her she began performing at gigs around Dublin whilst she was still studying before moving over to London.
‘better days’ blends moments of uptempo jovial energy across its chorus and some more sombre, self reflective ones across the verses. This was intentional across both the production and lyrics and Fia had this to say:
“When I think of the song, I think of the contrast between light and dark, day and night, and between beauty and pain,”
Despite this, or maybe because of it, the track is infectious and you can’t help but play it over and over. It is a track that’s melody gets stuck in your head even on the first listen.
‘better days’ is an exciting glimpse of what is to come from an incredibly talented artist. Having already done a season of festival performances across Ireland in 2019, it feels like in 2020 Fia Moon is going to be able to push on from that and continue her impressive rise.
