We’re not saying it’s because SZA is here for the UK leg of her SOS tour, we’re just saying it’s a funny coincidence you know? If you don’t catch her in Manchester on the 13th, there’s Glasgow on the 15th or four (yes count them four) London dates for you spanning from the 17th to the 26th.

Summer was made for Jazz or the other way around? Either way, summer was made for KOKOROKO. The blissfully sweet eight-piece band is the perfect way to bring some beautiful sonics into your day, courtesy of the Southbank Centre who always seem to have something irresistible going down.
SAMPHA
Hackney Church, London
14th-15th June
It’s not everyday high energy beats, sometimes we want to feel. For those days we have Sampha, the South London singer who is nothing short of a global icon. Share in his beautiful soul-wrenching sound across two dates in Hackney.
JUNETEENTH BLOCK PARTY
Campfire Tileyard, London

You can’t do summer without at least one block party, may as well start as you mean to go on. This year Tileyard is celebrating Juneteenth early by creating a safe space to empower black voices within the music and creative industry.

Slowly one of London’s newest venues, the Outernet is starting to tighten its grip on the music scene. With Amapiano ambassadors Major League DJz on side for a June residency, Saturdays are starting to look slyly unmissable.

Do you know what’s hot? International DJ talent, do you know what’s even hotter? Joining Los Angeles-born DJ collective Donavan’s Yard to celebrate their second anniversary that comes complete with their own to-die-for capsule collection. Alongside some of the UK’s favourite DJs, they promise to tear down the night (in the best way).

Apparently the 17th is a hot day for events in June, if you can’t make it over to Brum or Donovan’s Yard and Major League DJz don’t grip you the way they should, fear not you are not without options.
