Internet Culture: Hilarious Animated Web-Series My Crynicles Is Saving Self-Isolation Boredom.[@MyCrynicles]
My Crynicles Is A Hilarious & Relatable Animated Web-Series That Has The Makings of An Incredible Show
Created solely by Sierra June Mckie, this talented Los Angles based writer and animator has created a web series that is the detailed account of all the boys that made her cry. Hence the name: My Crynicles. The pilot was released back in 2019 but due to Covid:19 isolation, Mckie’s channel has sky rocketed in views, reaching up to 97,000 views on her pilot episode in just a few weeks.
The content is hilarious because it’s true to most of our shameless experience in the dating world as young adults. Reminding me of the raw talent that was evident in award-winning director and writer Issa Rae back when she first released her very own web-series “Awkward Black Girl” which too was a skit highlighting the everyday experiences that black women go through.
Mckie gives us a fresh look at the black girl monologue that seems too funny to not be true. The growing fanbase of the animated web-series call for Netflix to give the young creator anything she needs, to continue creating this series. We look forward to seeing the future of the My Crynicles!
