Tashana has received recognition and radio plays from the likes of BBC Radio 1Xtra, Reprezent, Pulse 88 and Westside Urban radio stations. “There are significant changes showcased within my debut EP titled ‘Womanhood’”, quotes Tashana. Having transitioned from behind the scenes with writing credits on projects in collaboration with well known artists, such as Chip and DVS (AR15 – Concrete Jungle), Charlie Sloth (Put It On You) and JVCK James to growing in confidence as a plus sized black woman and pushing industry normalities and boundaries to showcase her true creativity and versatility as a vocalist, just as much as her proven writing successes.

Tashana is gracing us with her journey into ‘Womanhood’ and goes on to mention “my artistic practise is drawn to relate to a woman’s physical and spiritual growth, where I’ve embodied personal challenges within my lyrics. I’ve explored dif erent genres and created a sound that reflects my heritage and upbringing as a British Jamaican as well as having found my own sexy, raunchy and grown vibe”. Her lead track Cross It sets the tone for the audience’s journey into her life giving hood energy with a beat inspired by well-known production collective FaNaTix and establishes Tashana’s re-birth on the scene, demanding respect.

‘Womanhood’ consists of six tracks, inclusive of a bonus single ‘Sheila’ which was synched for a global “Sisterhood” campaign for the jewellers, Pandora Official. Her writing style is unique, raw and articulate, capturing the audience on her journey, with each song delivering a specific moment in her life over the past several years. “I want to be a role model for women that are going through ‘it’ in their lives, whatever that ‘it’ may be, by empowering them through my music” Tashana states.
