I first interviewed Paige Lihya, back in 2015 and she has continued to bless the UK soul/ R&B scene with her raw emotion and seductive sound. When she’s not collaborating with artists such as Bonkaz, she’s getting spins with her latest single ‘So Good’ ft Skye Chai, on all the best radio stations and spreading love while embracing her flower power. So let’s hear more from the talented 18 year old.

Describe your sound in 3 Words.

Hard to say because I’m always open to experimenting and trying new things so I’ll grow as a artist but always want my music to be soulful, gripping and fresh.

Why is music so important to you?

Music is important to me because it’s a way I’ve found to express my feelings/emotions in a creative manner. Growing up around music all my life, I now get the opportunity to tell my experiences through songs that hopefully, people can relate to. No matter what mood you’re in, there’s a song that translates every feeling!

When your think about your biggest dreams, where does your mind take you?

Some of my biggest dreams are to have my music impact people’s lives positively. Traveling the world and having different cultures connect with my music would be a great achievement for myself.

Hindsight’s a bitch! What do you wish you could have learnt earlier?

Well two things

1. To be more confident and believe in myself.

This week’s spotlight track is double the juice! KDotMelody just dropped the visuals for ‘Way Up’ and we’re premiering it on #ShahlaaDiscovers X GUAP Magazine.

The visuals to KDotMelody’s ‘Way Up’ manage to compliment his music style – cool, creative and chilled out.

Fresh from North London, KdotMelody has been passionate about music since he was a child. In 2014 when he established his Creative Collective REGNAD with fellow member B-Smith, he decided to pursue music as a career.His sounds are ambient, fresh and melodic (hence the name). His musical influences range all the way from Jay-Z to Norah Jones, which just emphasises what an eclectic ear he has.

KdotMelody is a true lyricist and believes in the old saying, “Food for thought” within his tracks.
