It’s been another week of amazing new releases. Here are some of the releases that you need on your playlist this week!
Ari Abdul – CCTV EP
After the release of her single ‘BURY YOU’ in September, Ari Abdul has released her second EP titled ‘CCTV’. This EP is filled with deep, haunting sounds along with thoughtful lyrics and hard-hitting production to match.
BOJ & Ajebutter22 – Rora
Nigerian artists BOJ and Ajebutter22 have teamed up once again on their latest, infectious track ‘RORA’. ‘RORA’ is the first single of off their highly anticipated EP series, ‘Make E No Cause Fight III’. The Spax-produced track shows the natural synergy the pair have with each other- coming after a longstanding collaborative relationship dating back to their 2012 single ‘Omo Pastor’.
B-ahwe – PercentAge
Rising singer/songwriter B-ahwe has enlisted the help of Sunny Reyne on her latest single ‘PercentAge’. This is the third single of off her forthcoming ‘26% Mixtape’, dropping 15th November. This soulful single discusses the idea that age is a percentage and not a number. B-ahwe encourages us to see age as a percentage, live life to the fullest and to open our eyes to our limitless capacity for growth and transformation.
Bella Shmurda – My Brother
Bella Shmurda’s latest single is an emotional tribute to his close friend and KPK crooner Mohbad who suddenly passed away in September. The track ends with fans chanting Mohbad’s name showing that his legacy will definitely live on through his incredible music.
Danny Sanchez & C.REM – No Fumar
Taken from their hotly anticipated second album, South West London vocalist Danny Sanchez and talented Hackney-raised emcee C.REM have joined the exciting collective, The Sihouettes Project. Gliding on top of Kunfused’s immaculate production, Danny Sanchez seamlessly blends his sleek flows and wordplay with C.REM’s potent bars on ‘No Fumar’.
Felixthe1st – Friday 13th
MOBO Awards winner Felixthe1st has entered his rockstar era with his newest single ‘Friday 13th’. Along with the release of the song, Felixthe1st has gone the extra mile with the accompanying music video. In the Dylan Friese Greene-directed video, we see and hear Felix in full rockstar mode as we follow him to a superficial prom night.
Gwamz ft Tay Iwar & Skeete – Pamela
South West Londoner Gwarmz has teamed up with Nigerian Singer/songwriter Tay Iwar and Afro-fusion artist Skeete on his latest single ‘Pamela’. Produced by Zxnny, JEDSOUL and Gwarmz himself, ‘Pamela’ is a beautiful blend of Afrobeats, Dancehall and R&B melodies.
James Bambu – Rhythm Of A kiss
James has returned with his third single of the year titled ‘Rhythm Of A Kiss’. This House-inspired, R&B/Soul love anthem represents a feeling of freedom and breaking away from anything negative.
Jujuboy, Banx & Ranx – James Bond
Jujuboy’s latest offering is the upbeat track ‘James Bond’. Collaborating with Juno Award-winning duo Banx & Ranx, ‘James Bond’ is filled with catchy flows and lyrics.
Jordan Adetunji – Rock N Rave (Mixtape)
Belfast-native genre bending alternative artist Jordan Adetunji is known for breaking all the rules and pushing the boundaries of his creativity. He does exactly that on his latest mixtape ‘Rock N Rave’. Filled with elements of Rap through to Emo along with his signature flow, this mixtape does not disappoint.
Jelani Blackman – Feel The Same
Jelani Blackman’s latest offering is the mid-tempo tune ‘Feel The Same’. Showing his versatility with his rapping and melodic singing, ‘Feel The Same’ is a well crafted track. This track also samples Kirk Franklin’s famous Gospel song ‘Melodies From Heaven’.
Lord Apex, Freddie Gibbs – Phoenix
Lord Apex has teamed up with legendary US Rapper Freddie Gibbs on their latest track ‘Phoenix’. The upbeat yet mellow single produced by Argov provides a soulful base for Lord Apex to deliver his tradmark flow alongside one of America’s most called-on rappers right now in Freddie Gibbs. ‘Phoenix’ showcases a fresh sound and vibe that sets the tone of his forthcoming project titled ‘The Good Fight’.
Meduulla – Vibe Nice
Meduulla has come a long way since her appearance on The Rap Game UK in 2021 and her latest single ‘Vibe Nice’ shows just how far she has come. She effortlessly glides along this Reece Samuels and Abnormal Sleepz-produced track, sticking to her signature flow and witty bars.
Melica – Run
MOBO Unsung Class of 2023 finalist Melica has released her latest single ‘Run’. Gliding on top of the sharp percussive textures and heavy-hitting basslines, Melica’s rich vocal performance perfectly encompasses her journey towards reconciliation, while reflecting on her past hardships that left her reality in a negative state.
Prettyboyface – Off The Leash
South East London native Prettyboyface has returned to the scene with his latest single ‘Off The Leash’. Inspired by a wide range of influences from Underground Hip Hop to Funky House, Prettyboyface brings those influences to life in this upbeat track.
Rachel Chinouriri – The Hills
Rachel Chinouriri’s latest single ‘The Hills’ is filled with her enchanting vocals. This Aaron Shadrow and Rich Turvey-produced track is filled with Pop/Alt-Rock influences.
Rosier – Machine Friends
Rosier’s latest genre-bending track ‘Machine Friends’ is filled with witty lyrics, unexpected melodies and Rosier’s unique flow. The HUNA, RJ and Joe Beard-produced track matches perfectly with Rosier’s unique style.
Rebecca Winter & Psycho YP – Bami Soro
Coming off the high of her first headline show, UK Afro-Fusion artist Rebecca Winter has teamed up with Nigerian artist Psycho YP on their latest single ‘Bami Soro’. This upbeat, addictive tune showcases Rebecca’s beautiful vocals and Psycho YP’s effortless flow.
Samm Henshaw – Jumoke
Samm Henshaw’s latest single ‘Jumoke’ is dedicated to a dear friend of his, Steve Spotlight who unexpectedly passed away in October 2022. According to Samm, Steve has always encouraged him to make music that celebrated his Nigerian heritage as he (Steve) was heavily involved in the African Music scene- that’s how ‘Jumoke’ came to be. If you do come across this song, be sure to stream, buy and share it as all the money that this song makes will go towards Steve’s four children that he sadly left behind.
Zubi – Journey To Idan (EP)
London-based alternative Soul powerhouse Zubi has released is latest EP ‘Journey To Idan’. Through this EP, Zubi embarks on a soulful expedition from start to finish. The opening track ‘Hero’ depicts Zubi take up a mantle of courage, ready to conquer his own insecurities. The last track on this EP ‘Silver’ is a reflective track, looking back on the choices and the destinies that lie ahead.
