PREMIERE: Jay 8lue – Bad 4 U [@JAY8LUE]

Jay 8lue has just dropped visuals to go alongside his second release of 2020 ‘Bad 4 U’.

‘Bad 4 U’ might be just the smooth introduction you need to Jay 8lue. Having formerly performed under the name YJ as his sound has developed he has moved over to being Jay 8lue. With that, we get a more mature sound delivered with the elements that attracted his initial fan base. With a mix of candid lyricism and an ability to tap into emotion, Jay 8lue is the kind of artist that has real staying power.

The track is all of that and more blending R&B and Rap creating a perfect bed for the laid back delivery and sensual imagery of ‘Bad 4 U’ with additional vocals provided by J Warner. The track plays on relationships where one partner is bad for the other, more specifically the character Jay narrates being kind of toxic. I say kind of toxic because the second verse feels like someone scrambling for reasons to distance themselves from a situation they created but at the same time the verse could just be a factual retelling, so just a slight hint of toxicity. The visuals are clean and keep things fun, by having some great animation alongside the lyrics as well as great use of colour.
