Piece et Patch: new fashion brand from Wavy The Creator [@wavythecreator]
Nigerian musician Wavy The Creator (born Jennifer Ejoke), who is known for her edgy and unique style, has released the debut collection for her clothing brand Piece et Patch. The collection was unveiled at the 2022 Street Souk, a Nigeria-based streetwear convention. The collection, dubbed “Reviviscent Uns” features a range of clothing and accessories that is sure to be a hit with fans of Wavy’s music and fashion alike.
Reviviscent Uns is a testament to the multidisciplinary artist’s commitment to sustainability and fashion. Leaning into upcycling, Wavy breathes new life into thrifted denim and deadstock fabrics to create standout looks throughout the collection.
Across the collection, one can see the diverse influences from the world of the self-proclaimed “alien”. The Alté style aesthetic is predominant, and so are riffs on Wavy’s love for authenticity and quirkiness. Like her genre-bending music, the pieces throughout the collection are unapologetically Wavy. Discarded denim pants were deconstructed and remodelled into an ankle-length skirt with patch pockets. Other standout looks are denim jackets with matching pants, cropped jackets and micro skirts.
Key accessories throughout the collection are patchwork denim baseball caps, and a puffer tote designed to look like a denim pants. By repurposing materials, Wavy is able to create stylish and unique pieces that make a statement while also reducing waste.
Overall, the debut collection from Piece et Patch is a must-have for any fashion-forward wardrobe. With its focus on sustainability and unique style, it’s sure to be a hit with fashionistas everywhere.
