GUAP x adidas – The Originals Creator Network
What’s it all about
GUAP is launching ‘The Originals Creator Network’ in partnership with adidas London. The network is an educational programme for young, London creatives and will provide a unique opportunity for emerging talent to develop their skills across 12-months.
The 12-month initiative will:
- Immerse participants in creative workshops led by industry experts.
- Allow them to receive commisions to work on live Originals projects.
- Use the Originals Carnaby Street store as a learning hub providing both in-person and online guidance throughout.
The online application process is now open and will be live until 23rd Feburary.
TOP TIPS from the Community Manager
Work on putting together an engaging portfolio that introduces: who you are; your past and current projects; your interests, inspirations and role models; and whatever else you think is relevant
Put thought into your responses! Whilst I’m not encouraging waffle, it’s important to give expanded answers that communicate your interests, intentions and capabilities.
If you’re asked to provide a link to your Instagram or social media account, provide an actual link, and make sure the links are working.
Communicate exactly how and why you’re relevant to the opportunity. For example, we’re looking for emerging creatives. Communicate exactly why you class yourself as emerging and what tangible skills/opportunities you hope to develop or gain from the opportunity.
Don’t be afraid to reach out to the organisers if you’re having any troubles with the application process.
The programme lead for this project is e.cullen@guap.co.uk, feel free to reach out.

TOP TIPS from the Co-Founder, Shannie Mears
Include as much information as possible about yourself, your interests etc. The more context you provide, the better. For example, if you’ve ran an exhibition tell us when the exhibition was, what the theme was, your role, and the outcomes.
Donโt just use generic/layman terms when describing yourself, for example “I am passionate/committed/motivated”, etc. Instead, explain how and why – give examples. “I am passionate about x, because y, and and have demonstrated this by z”.
Be as specific as possible and who you are, and what you want. The clearer you are on who you are, where you are in your career, and what you want to gain out of the project, the easier it is for us to visualize how impactful the opportunity will be for you.
Where possible try and do as much research on the brand you’re applying to work with, what projects they’ve previously worked on, brand ethics and aims, the opportunity itself and anything else you
Continuously think ahead about what your plans, hopes, and aspirations are beyond the program. Think about what you can gain, what your next steps are, how you plan to use what you’ve taken from the programme and how you plan to continue contributing to the company once the opportunity has finished.
