Rising South London singer Leah Music has the world screaming ‘I bet it sucks to be you right now’ as her latest single ‘S2BU’ takes over TikTok. Her emotive and crisp vocals caught the attention of thousands on Instagram with her playful mashups and captivating voice – Leah Music is here and breaking through the music scene.  

Beginning her journey by posting covers and mashups on Instagram back in 2019, Leah began attracting newer audiences and supporters. It wasn’t long until people started wanting her to release her own material. Her first single titled ‘A Letter to the World’ was released on June 12th, 2020, around the time of the Black Lives Matter protests – the single unpacks the racial injustices black people face from the criminal justice system at a time when it mattered most. Her second single ‘With You’ was released on February 6th, 2021, which sees Leah’s vocals on a fun melodic beat that gives a summertime feel as she talks about parting ways with someone.  

Her latest single titled ‘S2BU’ which was released April 16th, 2023, is a song that has all the girls passionately screaming one lyric in particular, with the music video already racking up over 40k views on YouTube. ‘S2BU’ is fun and relatable so it’s no surprise everyone loves it. 

Nicole: What did it feel like seeing the warm reception to S2BU and having it played on Capital Xtra for the first time? 

Leah Music: Seeing the warm reception to S2BU was very unexpected but it was exciting to know people can relate and enjoy the music I make. Hearing it get played on Capital Xtra for the first time was very surreal, it was a great experience. 

Nicole: Whenever you’re unsure about anything music related whose opinion do you trust and listen to the most? 

Leah Music: If I’m unsure about anything music related my manager, and my siblings would definitely be my go-to. 

Nicole: What are you looking forward to doing this year? 

Leah Music: This year I’m excited to travel & network and meet new people and just be able to have fun with my music and towards the end of the year, have an ep out.
