Meet Regina [@Reginaeigbe]: GUAP’s Dancer of the Year Supported by Adidas [@Adidas]

Regina Eigbe, who has amassed over 1 million followers across all platforms, is known for bringing Afrobeats to the forefront of dancing culture. Most recently, Eigbe’s achievements were recognised as she was announced GUAP’s Dancer of the Year – a category supported by Adidas.

Not only is Regina Eigbe a dancer, she is also a choreographer and movement director who boasts an impressive portfolio. In 2021, Regina collaborated with Beats by Dre in their advert announcing their noise cancelling bluetooth earphones. Similarly, she choreographed Headie One’s performance at the Brit Awards. 2022 was no quieter as she continued to partner with well-known brands like McDonalds and Ciroc Vodka, and featuring in Oxlade’s viral song, ‘Ku Lo Sa‘.

One would have thought that her work in 2021 and 2022 would be hard to beat but 2023 has shown otherwise. Eigbe supported Wizkid as he delivered the biggest solo show of his career – she was the choreographer behind the dance moves that over 60,000 people enjoyed on the Tottenham stadium stage. With a jam-packed three years, it is clear that Regina Eigbe is now a cultural force to be reckoned with.

This year, the ‘Dancer of the Year’ category was supported by Adidas. Adidas’ involvement in the dancing scene is nothing new. Not only do they have collections that cater to dancers, their latest ‘Samba’ Ad is a celebration of dancing as an authentic, ubiquitous part of culture. Fittingly, Regina Eigbe’s work speaks the same message: dancing is indeed a pillar within modern culture.
