As the release date for Joey Bada$$’s 2nd studio album ‘All-Amerikkkan Badass’ gets closer. He decided to get up close and political by releasing a powerful video to his ‘Land of the free’ single. The video which shows white men dressed in Ku Klux Klan outfits and firing squads. Shows us that in this album Joey isn’t here to play games.
This single, which was released as audio on the same day as Donald Trump’s inauguration, is definitely a wake up call to all of his fans. parts of the video shows children sitting around him as Joey teaches them his own perspective on the ‘Land of the free’
As Joey waves around and red white and blue bandanna as a flag he raps. “Sorry America, but I will not be your soldier / Obama just wasn’t enough, I need some more closure / And Donald Trump is not equipped to take this country over” These lyrics put over a beat produced by another pro era member Kirk Knight, Definitely sets us up for his latest album. In which he hopes to show us the world through his eyes.
