Ghanaian Collective Invade The World and The Kumericans Debut Collaborative Project BUST
Invade The World are a collective of creatives who aim to represent the growing creative scene in Ghana through their creative endeavours. In their debut presentation of their creative charisma, Invade The World collaborated with rising stars that are the Kumerikans to create visuals for their latest single BUST.
The Kumerikans were part of the originators of the Asakaa/drill music genre in Ghana, which opened up the possibilities of the music scene there and created a new entry point for other young music acts.
The music video and editorial was based on their unique identity as “KUMERICAN”, a mixture of the road lifestyle in Kumasi – locally known as “Asakaa” – and the infusion of drill music culture from New York, America.
To represent this Kally Given, a fashion designer and member of the collective, designed a collection of pieces for the Kumerica Boys taking inspiration from their personal style.
Filmed in the streets of the Kumerikans’ hometown of Kumasi, the capital of the Ashanti region in Ghana, the goal was to deliver a raw and uncut presentation of the inner city and culture of the city.
