[@Halievocalist] Track of The Week is [@cherrivoncelle] ‘Leave Me Be’
British-born songstress Cherri V has a voice that can redefine British R&B.
Cherri V returns with a beautiful acoustic version of her track ‘Leave Me Be’.
Cherri V’s latest single ‘Things You Do’ has already met with rave reviews and championed by BBC 1Xtra, Capital Xtra. Yet, British Soul songstress Cherri V continues to tease us with music from her long awaited debut album Brown Eyed Soul.
Premiered via Clash Music Cherri V releases an acoustic interpretation of her song ‘Leave Me Be’ that I feel might even be better than the production-led version.
The original Leave Me Be was produced by Joey Stickz and arranged by Hypertone (Snakehips, Jessie J, Alesha Dixon). In this version Cherri V collaborates with musicians Hannah V (Rihanna, JP Cooper), Joey Grant (Wretch 32, Gabrielle) and Junior Kirton (Camila Cabello, Jasmine Sullivan). They deliver an unadulterated, acoustic and emotive piano-driven iteration of the original.
Cherri V says this stripped version allows her to hone in on “vulnerability and honesty”.
Leave Me Be’ hones in on vulnerability and honesty, and this stripped version of the record just allows me to dig a little deeper”. – Cherri V
Brown Eyed Soul is out 2018, i’m ready are you?
