GUAP PREMIERE: [@thisislilita]’s “Untethered”
WHO: LILITA
GENRE: electronic / pop
FROM: East London
MEMORABLE LYRICS: “Love me, don’t break me again / I need some mercy my friend / I can’t withstand, I cannot hide”
“Untethered”, produced by Flo The Producer, is LILITA’s hypnotising cradle song that channels sci-fi realities and lust-filled notions of love. Following on from the release of her highly praised track “Bigger Plan”, LILITA proves she has no problem becoming a maven to a multitude of musical genres.
The rising songstress created the stunning visuals for “Untethered” alongside friend and DOP Jamal Anthony Haddad. With her can-do attitude, LILITA clears every hurdle in the race. Herdles like money–similarly to the making of this video which was done with zero-budget, using a single LED and a sword and located in a local and slightly ominous carpark.
LILITA explains what the track means on a personal level–“Untethered is a hypnotic journey, composed of 3 different vocal elements that are tied together with production that can only be described as spiritual. I was unwilling to hide anymore and wanted to know about the untethered parts of a being, the raw depths of someone that not every eye gets to see. The song holds vulnerable lyrics, I ask for mercy in the most empowering way, expressing my desire to be loved whilst enchantingly asking for forgiveness. Untethered embodies a warrior energy that ties together mysticism and strength.”
LILITA creates music for the soul (and there’s never a bad time for a bit of soul-healing). Watch the entrancing visuals above.
