Five For Friday is back again giving you 5 great tracks/projects for your Friday. Friday is essentially the most important day of the week musically, and typically a lot of music drops on Friday’s. This week much like last has been crazy for releases so it was difficult to bring it down to just five With it being another very busy week of great music to make life a little easier this Friday we are giving you 5 of our top picks that have recently dropped to start off your weekend listening.

Sainte Ft. Knucks & A2 – Summer Is Blue

Sainte has been having an incredible run over the past year, with “Champage Shots” looking like it was the track that really took him to the next level for fans. Following up an electrifying performance at Cloud X Festival he links up with two more of the festival’s lineup in the form of A2 and Knucks for “Summer Is Blue”. With a star studded lineup of the UK’s underground scene, it was pretty much guaranteed to be a banger, and the artists didn’t disappoint. They each glide across the production which is a sublime blend of bass and smooth melodies. Don’t sleep on this one.

Jaz Karis – Motions

The ethereal Jaz Karis drops the uptempo but velvety “Motions” this Friday and it is perfect for this sun we’ve been having recently. Jaz is by no means a new name to people but it feels like people have needed a reminder of why she excited people so much when she first broke out and I think “Motions” does a good job of that. With vibrant production and honeyed vocals, there are all the elements of a great track with an easy to pick up hook that’ll have you singing along in no time. Hopefully, this is signs of more music to come, and who knows maybe even we’ll get a full length album soon.

Kojey Radical Ft. Lex Amor – War Outside

The man with Cashmere Tears offers up the first single of his new album and it is as luxuriant as you’d expect and has a guest appearance from the incredible Lex Amor. Kojey is in album mode and as a teaser offering, he shows yet again why he’s such a highly lauded artist. Forever exploring the sounds that interest him, “War Outside” is one Kojey lovers will naturally radiate towards and a gateway to divining into his wider catalogue for newer fans. I already can’t wait to hear what he has in store for us on the new album.

Isa Reyes – Santiago

Isa Reyes is special. At only 22 and with only a few releases under her belt, she feels like she just has that star quality. “Santiago” is testament to that, both the slightly stripped back performance version in the video and the actual track on Spotify. The two versions provide slightly different listening experiences but across both the strength of Isa‘s voice is undeniable.

The performance leans into the songs etymology that draws its roots from Paolo Coehlo‘s international bestselling book The Alchemist which is all about a journey of self discovery undertaken by a boy named, you guessed it, Santiago. The visuals lean into this imagery and see Isa searching for her own “treasure” too just as the protagonist of the novel does. It equally shows just how strong her vocal performance is with the intro to the song being performed acapella over the ambient noise of her surroundings and it is hauntingly brilliant. The Spotify version is equally great and a much more traditional listen but the video version is simply exquisite.

MoStack – High Street Kid 2

MoStack drops the long awaited follow up to his stellar Stacko album with the second entry in his High Street Kid series of projects. After a long period of going quiet MoStack quickly re-stamped his authority and position as one of the chief talents the UK has to offer especially when it comes to providing vibes. It started with the huge single “Ride” which is the projects closer and this was then followed with “Bronson” and without too much of a wait High Street Kid 2 is here. It’s difficult to follow up a body of work that broke you to an audience, even more so when you put the pressure of making a direct sequel to the body of work but MoStack‘s talent is indisputable and he more than meets the task on this project. Hopefully, MoStack is back for good this time.
