Queen of Dancehall, Grace Hamilton aka Spice gave exclusive insight into her life through an A Conversation With interview with Red Bull. During this conversation the Dancehall artist touches on various topics, such as colourism, future goals and her impact on the industry.
Spice on colourism: “In Jamaica, they make you feel like if you don’t have that complexion that’s on the screen, you’re not popping, you’re not hot… if you stay as a dark skinned black woman then you are [made to] feel inferior.”

She talks us through how her voice was discovered at Sunday School in St Catherine Jamaica, which lead to the creation of Spice through live performance at String festival. Alongside her relationship with artist Vybz Kartel, reality tv appearances in Love & Hip Hop and her Instagram campaign denouncing colourism.
