Gabriel Moses’ stunning debut monograph beautifully celebrates his artistry [@gabrielomoses]

Iconic photographer Gabriel Moses is continuously cementing himself as a household name in the fashion industry with his impeccable eye. Moses is now transitioning his skills from the digital to the editorial, from the release of his debut monograph Gabriel Moses: Regina to his most current cover editorials for The Homme Plus Mag.

Born in South London and deeply entrenched in his Nigerian heritage, Moses landed his first campaign, with Nike, at just 18 years old; the first of many milestones, he went from being Dazed youngest cover photographer to photographing Skepta and Little Simz. 

What emanates from Moses’ artistry is a deep richness. Both stylistically in his tones and textures as well as thematically in his nostalgic focus, his signature style is unique and powerful. His aestheticism is now being translated into print with his monogram. 

Off the back of his debut exhibition project this year, ‘Regina’ opens up with a moving foreword by the artist himself, delving into his ethos and practice. His text is paired with commentary scattered across the book by Matthew Williams, Ciesay, Clint, Samuel Ross, and Slawn and in-conversation transcriptions with Skepta and Nick Knight. Contextualising his images with these interpretations provides a unique look into his work, proving the impact his career has had on the fashion, and wider creative, industry already. 

The monograph, designed by Hassan Rahim, is a beautiful showcase of his talent. Portraying the entirety of his career, including previously unpublished images, Gabriel Moses: Regina is a longstanding testament to the artist’s profound connection to family, community, and the culture around it that should never be forgotten.
