Meet the Creatives Behind H&M & Ikea’s Atelier100 Space

In the short time it’s been open, Atelier 100 has fast become known as an ‘ideas factory’, a centre for London creatives to build networks and get the support they need to develop the next level of their careers.

Making room for emerging fashion designers, metal workers, sculptors and more, the recently opened space is the brainchild of retail giants H&M and IKEA. It is a physical commitment to supporting local artists and helping people to connect with their creative counterparts and build on that connection.

The participants will receive expert mentorship and up to £10k funding for their projects, which aim to serve and relate to a London-centric audience.

Meet some of the 2022 participants:

Andu Masebo is a designer who’s worked in carpentry and ceramics, making objects that comment on the wider systems they sit within. This autumn, he’ll present a chair, available for purchase, along with the other creatives’ work.

Ella Rush & Kiah Bibby’s Gum.ldn is about novelty and imagination. The duo handmake rings that respond to the environment by changing colour. Keep an eye out for their latest avant-garde creation at the store in Hammersmith.

Designed and made in London, Adam Jones’ pieces are now stocked in the Atelier100 store, made using upcycled materials with a quirky take on British history and tradition. Adam’s pieces are made-to-order and limited edition, so customers have to be super quick to get their hands on one.

Designers of the ‘Toni’ bag, Inouar London is part of the 2022 Atelier100 lineup. They are committed to sustainability in every part of their design process, using a small team of leather experts to produce their bags which are stitched and painted by hand in limited runs to reduce waste.

Their bags are available in multiple sizes and colours, including a new iridescent model.

Clara Chu is a London-based, Hong Kong-born womenswear accessories designer, with a knack for taking the mundane and transforming it into wearable statement pieces. She recently released a collection where she reimagined household items like water bottles and ice-cube trays into fully functioning accessories with a humorous twist. We’re looking forward to what she creates next!

All the designer’s products and more will be available to buy from the Atelier100 Livat Hammersmith space this autumn.
