#SaturdaySteez is your round-up of the latest fashion and beauty releases that you should know about.
MCQ Eyewear
MCQ is a brand focused on community, launched by fashion house Alexander McQueen in September 2020, offering free creative reign to a roster of collaborators.
In the last couple of weeks, the brand released an eyewear collection. The campaign was led by casting agent Sarah Small and directed and photographed by Duncan London, a return collaborator who directed the launch video for the brand. The result: some imagery that is really pleasing to the eye with a clear focus on the product.
MCQ’s eyewear collection features gender-neutral styles in transparent and coloured UV-protective glasses. As it gets warmer and brighter, adequate eyewear is definitely on our list of investments. A brand created specifically for the digital age, every MCQ item has a tag embedded with block-chain technology. Scanning this tag with your smartphone, allows you to register your item for authenticity and add it to a digital wardrobe on MY.MCQ.COM. You can also use this technology to track the lifecycle of your clothing, from when it was designed to if it was previously purchased and resold.

MISEMI: SCRUNCHIE BAGS
Misemi, created by Missy Yusuf in 2014, is focused on up-cycling and reworking pre-loved garments, specialising in sublimation printed pieces.
Misemi designs have become known for poignant phrases such as ‘love the culture but they don’t love us’ and unapologetic messages like ‘self care szn’, the brand is one that authentically speaks to the current climate.
As a slow fashion label, new releases from Misemi take time but it’s definitely worth the wait because we are loving the new Scrunchie bags. Small and cute, but practical, the chic bags are currently available in a staple black or neutral toffee shade.
Misemi Scrunchie bags retail at £28 and are available here

MELISSA X LAZY OAF
Brazilian footwear and accessory brand Melissa has launched its collaboration with London-based label Lazy Oaf, celebrating an 8-piece jelly collection.
First established in Brazil in 1979, Melissa has gained worldwide recognition for its usage of sustainably-produced, recyclable plastic and collaborations with innovators from the realms of fashion, art and architecture. The much-loved jelly shoes were originally a hit in the nineties, bringing style and comfort to a whole new level.
Taking inspiration from that same nineties era for this special collection, Lazy Oaf has incorporated bold daisies and signature Oaf heart badges across the jelly bands of Melissa’s iconic Kick Off silhouette –– a fun, chunky sole style. Reimagined with Lazy Oaf’s modern, playful lens, the collaboration sandals slide on and fit comfortably from the foam soles and nostalgic adjustable clip and velcro fastenings.
The sandals come in five colourways; green, pink, blue and two statement blacks with hearts and flowers. In addition to the sandals, the collection includes three mini Melissa x Lazy Oaf jelly bags in pink, green and black to match the sandals.
