Introducing #SaturdaySteez – A Curation Of The Latest Fashion Releases ft [@vitaelondon], [@grindshineldn], [@freetheyouth_gh] + more
#SaturdaySteeze is your bi-weekly roundup of the latest fashion and beauty releases that you should know about from the last couple of weeks.
RAZOR DENIM: RAZOR 2002
Razor Denim creates bespoke denim pieces from recycled vintage denim so it makes complete sense that they have released a noughties inspired collection.
The Razor 2002 collection features dark indigo denim, acid wash mini skirts and cropped denim shirts. As well as vixen shorts and my favourite, black denim jackets given a modern edge with the embellishment of a rough cut ‘R’ that straddles the hemline.
Vitae London: Eyewear
Vitae London, the watch brand created by William Adoasi has ventured into Eyewear and I am here for it!
They have released 8 styles available to buy from vitaelondon.com ranging from £59 to £109.
I SAW IT FIRST: MARIAM MUSA COLLECTION
Influencer Mariam Musa made history in the influencer world this week as the first black british female influencer to launch a solo collection with a leading UK fast fashion brand.
There are 52 pieces in the collection ranging from £8-£50 which emulate Mariam’s personal style.
She is also running a competition on her Instagram where you and your friends can win pieces from the collection.
GRINDSHINE: 2020 Collection
Grindshine has been teasing their latest collection for about a month and when it dropped at the end of July they did not disappoint.
Presenting a range of figure accentuating nylon and spandex jumpsuits, bodycon dresses and matching two pieces priced between the £55-£130 mark.
Bstroy: SAMSARA
Atlanta based brand B.stroy are set to release their S/S 20 collection they presented last year September entitled ‘SAMSARA’.
B.Stroy faced backlash with the initial presentation of the S/S 20 collection as they featured collegiate style sweatshirts with the names of famous school shooting surrounded by distressed bullet like holes.
Many thought the brand were trying to profit of tragedy whilst the designers behind the brand insisted they were drawing attention to the gun problem in America.
It seems the brand have taken heed of the criticism and replaced their initial offering with SAMSARA embroidered text and with an arrow threaded through the A’s.
NUBIAN SKIN: SHAPEWEAR
Nubian Skin, the first UK brand to cater to brown skin women looking for nude undergarments has launched their shapewear line with the Parris Corset.
There have been mixed views when it comes to shapewear as corsets have been known to cause heath problems due to the constriction that happens when wearing them.
However new technology and methods mean modern shapewear works with your body rather than against it to give you a sleeker appearance without sacrificing breathing.
The Parris Corset is constructed from 18 panels and 3 rows of front closure hooks and eyes so you can achieve a comfortable hold.
FREE THE YOUTH: FTY JEANS
Free the Youth Ghana has returned with their sister brand FTY Jeans revealing a unisex threaded denim jacket in a deep almost black colour which seems to be a popular choice at the moment.
Although Free the Youth are based in Ghana they are definitely ones to watch as they are set to be one of the biggest streetwear brands in West Africa.
Catch up with #SaturdaySteez in two weeks for the latest releases.
