We are officially into the swing of 2023 and that means music shows and events are slowly starting up again since the Christmas and New Year’s rush. If you’re on the lookout for events to attend, here are 8 must see gigs this month!
MAHALIA PRESENTS
Mahalia Presents is a music show hosted by R&B sensation Mahalia along with two to three up-and-coming R&B music acts. Past editions have featured the likes of Ojerime, Madi Saskia, Debbie, FLO and Max Hope. This year, the first edition of Mahalia Presents is taking place on the 7th February with performances by South London singer/songwriter and producer Bina, East London R&B star Kali Claire and soulful vocalist Nnenna King. If this is up your alley, make sure you get your tickets fast because this show sells out really quickly!
FOCALISTIC ALBUM LAUNCH PARTY
Calling all the Amapiano lovers- this show is for you! Piano People presents Focalistic’s album launch show in celebration of his latest album Ghetto Gospel. Taking place on the 10th February at Here at Outernet, Focalistic has an incredible lineup of special guests including South African artist Pabi Cooper, Jeremiah Asiamah and London-based, South African DJ Rosey Gold along with many more guest acts! THE BLOCK REPORT LIVE SHOWCASE
The Block Report live show is back with their first event of 2023! On the 16th February, The Block Report will be showcasing some of the best up-and-coming talent the UK has to offer. Hosted by Flashy Sillah, this edition’s lineup includes rap duo AE, EmanFromDaA2, Elt Cheekza and (OVE) Risky. Tickets have been released- get yours now!
GAIDAA, JEROME THOMAS & BAELY AT SENSES
The UK’s leading Soul and R&B platform, The Blues Project is taking over the Jazz Cafe for a night of the best new-age Soul and R&B this February! The lineup consists of the unforgettable Sudanese-Dutch singer/songwriter Gaidaa and, two of the most exciting voices coming out of the UK’s R&B/Soul scene, Jerome Thomas and BAELY. Happening on the 17th February, this night will be one for the books with amazing performances that you don’t want to miss!
ANTAGONISTS PRESENTS ‘DEAD OR ALIVE’
Also happening on the 17th February is the latest edition of DEAD OR ALIVE presented by the ANTAGONISTS. Producing hit songs for the likes of Dave, Skepta and JHus, Jae5 is bound to shut it down with his lineup of special guests.
GLOWED UP WRLD PARTY
The Glowed Up Wrld Party is a new event on the scene, with their first party launching on the 11th November 2022. Presented by Dibs and Shadobeni, Glowed Up was created to showcase their wider musical tastes while bringing something new and fresh to the UK scene.
