Five For Friday ft [@itsR_A_E], [@Nasty_CSA], [@unclerenelle] + more

Friday’s are packed full of releases, these are 5 you should pay particular attention to today.

Five for Friday is back as usual. Friday is essentially the most important day of the week musically, and typically a lot of music drops on Friday’s. Friday is also the day that the official charts are announced letting us know who holds the coveted number one position. To make life a little easier this Friday we are giving you 5 of our top picks that have just dropped.

R.A.E – Summer Love

R.A.E is having an amazing 2020 despite everything going on in the world, and ‘Summer Love’ is yet another surprise for the year, especially for her existing fanbase. ‘Summer Love’ is the first time R.A.E has had a track that wasn’t rap led, and with its release, it begs the question – why are we only getting this now? Whilst a switch up in her style of delivery, the vibe remains the same so if you love that 90s type of vibe this is definitely one for you. R.A.E is definitely one you should be keeping your eye on and one people will definitely have their eyes on once she performs on one of the main stages at Glastonbury next year.

Renelle 893 – Everything Is Temporary

South London’s Renelle 893 has just dropped his enticing debut EP Everything Is Temporary. He’s built an organic buzz through working the Brighton live music scene whilst at university, appearances on a number of YouTube platforms like LOUDHOUSE and Mango Juice Music, as well as a few releases on SoundCloud. Now with his first longer length offering, we get the chance to see not only Renelle‘s ability to skillfully put words together and paint pictures but also his eclectic tastes in production. He is clearly of the school of MF Doom, Wu Tang just as much as there are the British influences including nods to an iconic Giggs line in ‘Swim Out’. You can stream the project here.

Master Peace – Regular Feelings

Master Peace never does what you predict and ‘Regular Feelings’ proves it again. This latest release shows that stylistically Peace can adapt to any genre, despite having showcased himself largely across Emo-Rap and Indie Pop sounds. The large inspiration for the track was British Reggae/Pop group UB40‘s ‘Red Red Wine’ which blends Reggae melodies with British sensibilities and that’s exactly what Peace replicates. It is the first single from his upcoming project Love Bites and here’s what the man himself had to say: “My aim is to change the whole musical landscape by just being myself. ‘Regular Feelings’ is just the beginning.”.

Nasty C – Palm Trees

Nasty C is a South African Rapper who dropped his first body of work at 15 and since then has never really looked back. Whilst not as well known globally just yet, he has been the most streamed South African artist on Apple Music for the past 4 years. On top of this, he’s racked up over 120 million streams, collaborations with Davido and T.I, and praise from the like of DJ Semtex amongst others. His latest track ‘Palm Trees’ is taken from his upcoming album ZULU MAN WITH SOME POWER and it feels like the track that should push him onto the global stage.

JONES – Camera Flash

JONES raises her game with latest single ‘Camera Flash’ after her earlier 2020 offering ‘Giving It Up’ gained a lot of industry traction. ‘Camera Flash’ is a slight departure from the previous track favouring Disco inspired synths and an Electro-Pop soundscape with some slight elements of Funk thrown in the mix. Lyrically it’s an empowered statement from an artist who knows what she wants and isn’t afraid to say so. It’s a topic that so many people will be able to relate to: wanting a relationship when everyone seems to be craving a casual connection.
