If you haven’t already heard of these guys, you must be sleeping under a rock….They are a live instrumental band which is made up of (Nana – bassist, Stephen – drummer, David – keyboardist, Charles – keyboardist)
The Compozers are set to have an amazing year, having already jetted out to Texas for SXSW, the boys will also be performing at the London festival Love Box later in the year.
With great collaborations under their belt from artists such as Ed Sheeran, Fuse ODG, Kano and most recently BET winner Sarkodie, The Compozers are already dominating 2016.
We got to catch up with talented collective last week during their busy schedule. The boys dropped shared some nuggets with us whilst on their UK leg of their tour…..
How and who do you draw your inspiration from?
All: Everything inspires us from our culture, food, our upbringings to the ladies.
Name your childhood crushes?
Nana: Christina Milian was my babes!
David: Lauren London & Beyonce
Stephen: My mum *laughs*
If music never existed in this life, what would you be doing now?
Charlie: Making music
Nana: I am still trying to digest the question but it will have to be something creative; art related.
David: Drawing cartoons for a living
Stephen: Anything business related
Nandos or KFC?
All – OMG! How can you even ask that question? It’s 100 percent Nandos.
If you could collaborate with anyone in past & present, who would that be?
Charles: Chris Brown & Micheal Jackson
Nana: Justin Timberlake
What is your advice for someone who is looking follow in your footsteps?
Nana: Stay in school
David: Don’t just copy what the next dude is doing, come up with something to top that
Charles: Be original, people appreciate originality
Stephen: Always write your ideas down
What’s the key ingredient in your kitchen that you can’t live without?
Stephen:Shito
David: Aromat and Burger Sauce, I can’t forget that
Nana: I don’t go to the kitchen but I do love sweet chilli sauce
Charles: Salad Cream
