On Our Radar: [@CMilllano]
WHO: CMillano
GENRE: Rap
FROM: Kent, UK
Kent-based CMillano (AKA cmilly) has made his come-back with new single titled ‘Finchley’. This time he taps into the murky sounds of drill to bring forward some more complicated feelings as he stumbles upon love in North London. His flows are potent, to put it mildly, packing a punch over the polished instrumentals of the track which have been meticulously pieced together by producer toproducedit.
The 20-year-old is constantly expanding the margins of his musicality. This is largely through his adept capabilities in production and penmanship, however, you can also find him extending his skillset via creative collective escape plan. He discovered audiences indulged in his trap-augmented ‘Informal’ released earlier in the year along with a slew of other successful releases over the last couple of years.
The visuals, filmed and edited by Koko Bond-Razak and self-directed by CMillano with CRT effects from LAUZZA, are a lighthearted prompt to remember life is to be enjoyed. A reminder that despite all the trials and tribulations of our daily lives we can still find reasons to take in and appreciate the present moment for what it is. Set in an estate in Stratford, cmilly and friends can be seen enjoying a BBQ in a rare British heatwave.
If you don’t know his avant-garde sounds and heady flows already, we highly recommend you get to know. Listen to more from the artist below.
