East London has a new café called Beau Beaus, where you might meet your favourite rapper, founded by London-based artist Olaolu Slawn. Slawn who started his career as a skatewear designer in Lagos, moved on to bold, graffiti-style pop art, working extensively with the late Virgil Abloh and designing the 2023 BRIT award trophy.

Named after Slawn’s one-year-old son Beau Slawn, the Beau Beaus café is a space for creatives and anyone who wants to be a part of the creative community. This community hub is now the spot to be if you want to see some of your favorite stars.

Since its opening, the café has gained significant buzz after a viral TikTok video from Fabio Dessena, a TikToker known for his street interviews, posted a clip featuring rappers M Huncho and Unknown T going undercover as baristas and receiving treatment in the cafe’s acupuncturist clinic.

Shortly after, Beau Beaus had a cameo in the video for Central Cee and Dave’s single “Sprinter,” sparking an Instagram trend of hype beasts posing in front of the red signage in the café window.

On 12th July, Slawn and fellow London-based fine artist Teoni Hinds launched Beau Beaus Art Club. This initiative will host art workshops every other Wednesday. Besides this, the Art Club will host exhibitions, film screenings, and live music performances.

In the spirit of collaboration and community, Beau Beaus café is now the hangout for East-Landon creatives. Now having a film, chess, and book club, Beau Beaus will be here for a long time.
