LD takes part in the first episode of ‘The Process’, a Link Up TV series bringing the spotlight on six yearning proffesionals

Link Up Originals are launching a brand new music competition series ’The Process’ with help from the Godfather of UK Drill, LD, along with one of the genre’s biggest advocate’s Fumez The Engineer; presented by Capital Xtra’s Robert Bruce.

The two-episode series sees six talented contestants go head to head to work with LD to either produce and direct his new single. The six contestant are seen presenting their beats and pitches, some racked with nerves as LD and Fumez make their decisions as to who they think has the best potential to work on the project.


Bobby Shmurda says he’s being shunned by labels

The rapper said major record labels have been “blackballing” him since his split with Epic last month.

Bobby Shmurda announced early last week that he will be releasing They Don’t Know on April 29 –the first multi-track project he’s made since the 2014 arrest that led to his next seven years behind bars. His decision to release the record independently and on such short notice raised eyebrows among some Instagram commenters who urged him to spend more time marketing it, but Shmurda responded that labels were refusing to work with him after his recent split with Epic Records.

Apple Music launches Boiler Room sessions in Spatial Audio

Apple Music has launched a new series of DJ mixes mixed with their Spatial Audio technology, including 15 Boiler Room Sessions and an exclusive mix from Jeff Mills called “Outer to Inner Atmosphere: The Escape Velocity Mix.” The hour-long mix is the first entry in Apple Music’s relaunched One Mix series, featuring tracks from his Axis Records / the Escape Velocity catalog. Check them out The 15 Boiler Room mixes include sets from the Blessed Madonna, Boyz Noize, India Jordan, Ash Lauryn, HAAi, and more, recorded at nightclubs, festivals, and raves around the world. Apple Music plans to release additional sessions mixed in Spatial Audio throughout the year, including “Live From” Boiler Room. Check out the full list here.
