[@MillerBlueMusic] wants you to know there’s no ‘Rush’

Miller Blue drops latest single ‘Rush’ and proves that R&B is alive and kicking in the UK.

Now Miller Blue was definitely not a name on my lips being only three tracks deep into his career, but he has already garnered quite a bit of attention. Despite his career’s current brevity, he has been featured by the likes of Complex, Reprezent, Fubar, 1Xtra and more. With latest release ‘Rush’ I can imagine he will only garner even more attention. For those who love Khalid, Miller Blue’s vocal style will be perfect for you as they are very similar in that regard; Miller is unique in the fact that despite being a new artist it is clear to see that he has the capability to really capture the international markets attention with his style.

‘Rush’ is a laid-back production, with some elements reminiscent of The Weeknd’s ‘Earned It’ to it. Miller provides his soulful tones and lyricism to partner the excellent production, and the partnership of the two will have you playing the track over and over again. A testament to the quality of the track, it has been picked up and featured in a number of Spotify playlists including the R&B UK playlist as well as the Soultronic and Free Form playlists. Being added to the Free Form list alone shows his quality is on par with some of the best talents the country has to offer with the likes of Octavian, Teks Sinatra, Etta Bond, Mahalia, and more all being featured in the same playlist.

On ‘Rush’ we get an excellent taster of what Miller Blue is capable of, yet somehow I still think the best is yet to come. That is definitely saying something as it is rare that an artist from the current R&B landscape immediately stands out so much to me, especially from the UK where R&B is almost an alternative genre as it has been pushed out of the mainstreams appeal by the likes of Afro-Swing. Yet still the R&B Miller is making is both nostalgic and current in feel, and it is this combination that makes ‘Rush’ such an endearing track. I will definitely be keeping my eye on Miller for the foreseeable future – and you should too.
