We are officially into the swing of 2023 and that means music shows and events are slowly starting up again since the Christmas and New Year’s rush. If you’re on the lookout for events to attend, here are 8 must see gigs this month!

Mahalia Presents is a music show hosted by R&B sensation Mahalia along with two to three up-and-coming R&B music acts. Past editions have featured the likes of Ojerime, Madi Saskia, Debbie, FLO and Max Hope. This year, the first edition of Mahalia Presents is taking place on the 7th February with performances by South London singer/songwriter and producer Bina, East London R&B star Kali Claire and soulful vocalist Nnenna King. If this is up your alley, make sure you get your tickets fast because this show sells out really quickly! 


Calling all the Amapiano lovers- this show is for you! Piano People presents Focalistic’s album launch show in celebration of his latest album Ghetto Gospel. Taking place on the 10th February at Here at Outernet, Focalistic has an incredible lineup of special guests including South African artist Pabi Cooper, Jeremiah Asiamah and London-based, South African DJ Rosey Gold along with many more guest acts! It’s due to be an exciting night filled with the best vibes! Tickets are available on the Piano People website. This is the last ticket release so make sure you get your hands on these tickets quickly and practice all of your Amapiano moves so you’re ready for the show.

The Block Report live show is back with their first event of 2023! On the 16th February, The Block Report will be showcasing some of the best up-and-coming talent the UK has to offer. Hosted by Flashy Sillah, this edition’s lineup includes rap duo AE, EmanFromDaA2, Elt Cheekza and (OVE) Risky. Tickets have been released- get yours now!

The UK’s leading Soul and R&B platform, The Blues Project is taking over the Jazz Cafe for a night of the best new-age Soul and R&B this February! The lineup consists of the unforgettable Sudanese-Dutch singer/songwriter Gaidaa and, two of the most exciting voices coming out of the UK’s R&B/Soul scene, Jerome Thomas and BAELY. Happening on the 17th February, this night will be one for the books with amazing performances that you don’t want to miss!

Also happening on the 17th February is the latest edition of DEAD OR ALIVE presented by the ANTAGONISTS. With live performances and sets by Gloryboy, Vivendii Sound, Namani, Mayk and an extra special guest, this is the perfect event for you and your friends- you’re due to have a memorable night! The celestial being, Ayra Starr is going to be touring around the UK from the 19th February to 26th February! With hits such as Bloody Samaritan, Rush and a feature on Wizkid’s single 2 Sugar, Ayra Starr’s club tour is due to be a vibe! Get your tickets now and party with the ‘Sabi girl’!

On the 22nd February, +44 Live is coming to you with a brand new event that is celebrating the best in UK Black music and, they are kicking it off in a major way with the global hitmaker himself, Jae5 at the Lafayette, London! Producing hit songs for the likes of Dave, Skepta and JHus, Jae5 is bound to shut it down with his lineup of special guests.

The Glowed Up Wrld Party is a new event on the scene, with their first party launching on the 11th November 2022. Presented by Dibs and Shadobeni, Glowed Up was created to showcase their wider musical tastes while bringing something new and fresh to the UK scene. Once again, the duo are back with their first event of 2023 with some of the best DJs around right now! The lineup for the night includes party starter DJ Amie Danni, resident DJ at No Signal Radio AyChibs, and London club favourite DJ Raedee.
