Five For Friday ft. [@OfficialTamera], [@santinolesaint], [@catburns] + more

Five For Friday is back again with 5 releases from the past week you should pay attention to.

Five For Friday is back again giving you 5 great tracks/projects for your Friday. Friday is essentially the most important day of the week musically, and typically a lot of music drops on Friday’s. With it being another very busy week of great music to make life a little easier this Friday we are giving you 5 of our top picks that have recently dropped to start off your weekend listening.

Eliza Legzdina – Backflip

Eliza Legzdina has finally put her absolute banger “Backflip” on streaming platforms and even after over a years wait, the track still stands up. It is a feel good in your face track about, well about doing backflips, metaphorically and literally. It’s typical Eliza if you know her work by now, it’s fun, it has a number of musical influences infused in its DNA, and it is sexy – it’s a reclamaition of female sexuality with her flipping gender norms on their head at points throughout the song. You can see a live version of the track being performed here and look out for the official video coming soon.

KO x V9 x Skillibeng x Bermuda Music – Back2Back

The Homerton boys really made the most of their trip out to Jamaica with KO & V9 jointly following up Unknown T‘s release with Skillibeng and Bermuda Music with one of their own, “Back2Back”. This time there’s no hook it’s straight bars with the artists, unsurprisingly, going back to back on the record. With Drill’s top lyrcist, one of it’s most iconic characters and distinctive voices, and Skillibeng on a track even going in with high expectations you won’t be disappointed.

Cat Burns – It’s Over

Streatham’s becoming a new home of the stars first with Dave and now with Cat Burns. The South London native is one you probably recognise with her having a huge presence on TikTok and “It’s Over” is the perfect showcase of why she’s gotten so much attention. Silky smooth vocals, an unparalleled relatability, and an openness in her writing all comes together to create greatness. “It’s Over” was actually previewed on her TikTok over a year ago now with it finally seeing it’s release today and has in that time gained more than a million views just on the preview. The full track more than lives up to the hype and we can’t wait to see what else Cat has coming in the future.

Tamera ft. Tay Iwar – Good Love

Tamera is back with another one in “Good Love” and enlists the talented Tay Iwar for support. Having dropped sporadically since 2019, this year she has really upped the consistency and to the pleasure of fans has announced that her debut EP Afrodite will be dropping on November 19th. “Good Love” is of course from that project and it serves as yet another teaser at the variety we can expect on that with this latest number having some Afro-infused elements on the otherwise R&B production. Tamera is definitely one to watch with her sound being one that’s easy to translate to audiences across the board.

Santino Le Saint – Ride Or Die/ Hurricaine

Santino Le Saint is a star, he just exudes that rockstar energy and image. Today he drops a double release with “Ride Or Die” & “Hurricane” the final two singles he’s dropping before the release of his debut album Beautiful Disaster which drops in a couple of weeks. “Ride Or Die” offers you an energetic love song that plays on the Bonnie & Clyde/ride or die narrative that packs plenty of punch. “Hurricane” offers balance to this in that the tempo is slowed down, production is stripped back and it see’s Santino let his vocals shine through as the focal point as he explores a tumultuous relationship that somehow still manages to work despite its extremes. It is a great final teaser for the album which will no doubt live up to the standard set in the prior released singles.
