As we approach the end of Womxn’s History Month 2020, it is important to celebrate all the voices and faces of female history. It is common in mainstream media for Women’s History to often only apply to the Florence Nightingale’s of the world. Unfortunately, for many of us the small part of the school curriculum that shed light on the achievements of women in history, were often reserved for white women only.

From, Simon Biles who has become the most decorated American gymnast in history at the age of 23 in 2020. Or Robyn Rihanna Fenty who has most recently become the world’s wealthiest female musician. It is important that past and present female sheroes are put on a pedestal. This celebration must always include women who are queer, trans and female impersonating. As the fight for equality continues, there is no door that should close on any woman in the world. We are all in this together.
