CAPO LEE THE ‘TOO ON POINT’ RAPPER DROPS HIS COST OF LIVING EP [@CapoLee100]

Capo Lee, a hot MC from North London, released his seven-song EP Cost of Living on the 3rd of February 2023, showcasing his slick wordplay, lyricism and the variety of beats the easy-going MC can slide on. Cost of Living, which is produced by El Londo, brings us into the melodic mind and focus of Capo Lee, so let’s delve into it.

The first song ‘Cost of living’, shows the North London rapper giving a retrospective viewpoint as Capo Lee lets everyone know that he’s back and hungrier than ever. ‘If it’s lyrics then put me first’ because there’s a different type of skill to my meticulous and thought-out wordplay that I’m bringing. The second song ‘Drama or Karma’, featuring Ashbeck, sees the two rappers swiftly bouncing off each other as they explain how focused they are on their ‘mission’ of succeeding and won’t let anything sway them away from that.

As we get nearly halfway into the EP, songs ‘4 My Endeavour’ and ‘Smoke & Mirrors’ show off the rapper’s introspection as he lets listeners in on his current mindset. ‘4 My Endeavour’ displays his cool flow over the melodic beat, as his catchy hook ‘I got love inside I’m sharing but I’m caring how I should measure’ latches onto your mind. ‘Smoke & Mirrors’, featuring Arz, has the same level of introspection as they both talk us through how their feeling. When all the haze sets from the fallen ‘Smoke & Mirrors’, I’m still resilient and strong in my ‘quest’ of what I came to do. The fifth song ‘Don’t Lose Yourself’ has Capo Lee rapping over a catchy and melodic beat as he expresses the importance of not losing yourself and the things you want.

‘9 to 9’, featuring Bawo, has the North London rapper and the West London rapper telling us how they feel about the problems they’ve endured throughout their journey so far. The closing song on the project ‘Dru Hill or Jodeci’ has Capo Lee expressing his mindset as he lets us into the mind and focus of himself.

Cost of Living is a solid and well-thought-out EP, that showcases the rapper’s versatility, lyricism and quick-witted wordplay. We look forward to hearing way more from him in the future.
