BORN N BREAD celebrates 10 years with GALA Festival and DJ Competition Showcasing Underrepresented Talent for the third time!

BORN N BREAD, a dynamic music and culture-focused enterprise committed to curating inclusive musical experiences, festival lineups, and brand events, proudly announces its Tenth Anniversary celebration with an empowering initiative at GALA Festival in Peckham. On Sunday, May 26, 2024, BORN N BREAD will once again take over the Cornerstone Stage for an all-women DJ lineup, marking the third consecutive year.

With a mission to uplift and spotlight DJs and artists primarily comprising women and individuals from diverse backgrounds, BORN N BREAD aims to bring visibility to talent often marginalised in mainstream festival lineups. Their dedication to inclusivity extends beyond performance opportunities as they launch their third annual DJ competition in collaboration with GALA Festival. This initiative serves as a platform for emerging Black and ethnic minority women, femmes, and non-binary individuals aged 18 and above to kickstart their careers in DJ’ing.

The DJ competition seeks to equip winners with the necessary resources and support to thrive in their DJ careers. Entrants are encouraged to submit a 30-minute mix via the provided link and meet specific eligibility criteria, including being femme, woman, or non-binary persons of Black or ethnic minority background, London-based, and never having performed at a mainstream festival.
