Artist ANISE embodies Black Eve in this photo series captured by Bonnie Paul

A collaboration between musical artist ANISE and photographer Bonnie Paul, this photo series pays homage to Black Eve, the protagonist of ANISE’s latest release on Divine Feminine Power as the ideal response to brutality and violence.

Written in the wake of senseless police killings, Black Eve represents both protest and prophecy, challenging the hypocrisy of Western narratives that have oppressed communities of colour throughout history. The accompanying photo series puts forth a modern-day imagining of mother Eve in her quiet, but mighty, glory. ANISE purposely wears black woman-owned brands to fit in with the theme of the song. As we celebrate Black people this month, this series serves as a reminder to oppressed communities of their divine nature and unmatched ability to transform destructive trauma into transcendent light.
