Koya Adebanjo comments on conforming to trends in creative direction debut “Self-Projection”
In his creative direction debut, Self-projection reflects the mental process of stylist Koya Adebanjo’s vision of style today: “Recycled trends often have mainstream fashionistas dressing very similar, taking away from their individuality and suppressing their self-projection.”. he says. The result of this is Self-Projection, an editorial illustrating how Adebanjo sees style today with a practical sensibility. In a dark room, a projector casts barcodes and coloured rectangles onto a white wall that wraps around the models styled by Adebanjo in thrifted bold biker leather looks mixed with basketball-inspired steeze Koya says reflects his personality.
