YAZ – Overgrown

Yaz is the R&B, garage pop princess hybrid we all need in our lives. Her third single ‘Overgrown’ sees the North West London artist revelling having found the strength to leave a toxic lover over fun and preppy production. If you need something to dance in the mirror to – this is a real contender.

Nick Hakim – Vertigo

‘Vertigo’ is the latest track from neo-soul, indie folk artist Nick Hakim. It’s an easy-going , relaxing musical break from the hustle and bustle of life with satisfying guitar loops and beautifully soft and layered vocals from Hakim. Three minutes of neo-soul escapism.

Odunsi The Engine – Denim

One of the front runners of Lagos’ Alte scene – Odunsi (The Engine) is back with a 4 track EP entitled ‘Denim’. Satisfying transitions, exciting hyper pop/hip hop production and effortlessly fresh lyrics all brought together by the underlying afrobeat flair. Definitely something to tap into this week.

LYAM – The Reapers

If you’re an alternative Hip Hop head you’ll love ‘The Reapers’ from LYAM featuring Wiki. LYAM’s nonchalant London flair works perfectly alongside Wiki’s steady cadence and makes for a hard hitting 4 minutes of relatable bars about life on both sides of the pond.
