M.I.A’s MELTDOWN FESTIVAL – Reggae for the people

M.I.A’s MELTDOWN FESTIVAL – Reggae for the people

On Thursday 15th June 2017, Kingston born and raised artist Dexta daps took over the southbank centre for M.I.A’s Meltdown festival with legendary reggae king I wayne – owned it. Performing some of his hits including the hit dancehall song ‘Bring it to the owner’ I think I speak for the ladies in the house that he was killing em.

One lady in the audience went as far as pulling and screaming for him as he was on stage. If that’s not fan love then I just don’t know what is.

As if that wasn’t enough that we had Dexta daps but then I Wayne who has set records from as far back as 2005 came and performed some serious reggae music. I can definitely say I was reminded of my roots.

Although I Wayne had pointed out he hasn’t performed in a little while that didn’t stop him from having all the crowd on their feet. After performing ‘satisfy her’ that became a night to remember! If you haven’t already add both Dexta daps and I Wayne to your playlist and thank me later!

Those of you who are reading and just hearing about the MIA festival check it out and be sure to follow @southbankcentre for updates.
