LZee Is Ready “4THEWEEKEND” On His Latest Single

16-year-old Tufnell Park resident LZee has gained traction prior to the release of ‘4THEWEEKEND’.

Having released one other track ‘Gavin & Stacey’ he has been playlisted by the likes of BBC 1Xtra, Reprezent, Spotify, Apple Music and more. In doing so he’s amassed over 40,000 views on YouTube and 250k+ listens on streaming platforms. His first offering showed us that he’s undoubtedly comfortable on drill tracks, 4THEWEEKEND’ however, is an insight for what else may be on the horizon.

“And I’m up/ And I know that imma make it”

‘4THEWEEKEND’ removes us completely from the standard drill format, with its haunting melodies and uptempo in your face percussion, in favour of a more trap sound. But even trap might not be the right word for it, it sounds like “wave” music. Artists that spring to mind who are great at this are the likes of Nafe Smallz, M Huncho, Loski, and D-Block Europe. LZee doesn’t go with the singing route over that kind of production though, instead, he trusts his abundant rapping ability to carry the track.

The single doubles down on this confidence with proclamations of the assuredness of his success. Yet with talent like his, it doesn’t seem misplaced. The hook also has the endearing line “Turn up for the weekend/ Cause I’m proud of the g’s dem” which shows he has a good head on his shoulders that should lead him far. With the work rate the that act has currently shown, a come up is surely on the horizon.
