1.Travis Scott Ft Young Thug and Quayvo – Pick Up The Phone
Houston Native Travis Scott released one of the best singles this week and also one of the most anticipated, off the new album “Birds in the trap sing McKnight.”
Pick up the phone has a very nice vibe to it & definitely will be a song you should get familiar with as you’re going to be hearing this one through out the course of the summer. Travis Scott yet again shows us why he is one of the hottest Commodities in the rap game over the past 18 months teaming up with with Young Thug once again and Quayvo to bring us this record.
2. Drake – 4pm in Calabasca.
One of the best lyrical performances from Drake this year. And probably the best lyrical performance since 30 for 30. He attacks this one with confidence and the views rapper shows us why he still is one of the best lyricists in the game today and has been over the past 5 years.
A lyric that caught the ear and sounds like the self proclaimed “6 god” could possibly be taking shots at Diddy
“even had the Ogs tryna press me ha-ha-ha-ha no way out cause I’m already in”
regarding the infamous incident that went down in Miami between the two. And ironically puts the name of the bad boy moguls 1997 release titled 1997.
3. Anderson Paak ft T.I – Come Down
This song showcases why Anderson Paak is starting to get the recognition he deserves. The Californian native seems to always know how to make melodic uplifting music and this one with Atlanta legend T.I is no different, as both there styles combine to create a unique amazing record.
4. Casey Veggies ft Chris Brown- One on one ( feat Chris brown).
Another Californian by the name of Casey Veggies is someone who really hasn’t received credit or more credit for the quality of music he has been putting out for years now.
The combination of Casey veggies and Chris brown create a nice solid combination, a song that can most certainly and should be listened to a number of times
5. Chance The Rapper feat Future – Smoke Break
One of the most talented artists in hip-hop right now, teams up with the hottest artist in the game over the past 18 months.
The song which comes off Chance The Rappers new project “Colouring book”, is only a song chance the rapper could make as we hear the Chicago native tell us a story about his girlfriend and how they need time for themselves. Being the creative rapper he is, Chance uses an analogy throughout the song through the terms ” bowl” and “roll” signifying they do not have that much time.
