Style: First Look At The Upcoming NIKELAB X OLIVER ROUSTEING Collection
Almost a year after his now infamous collaboration with fashion retail giant H&M dropped, Balmain creative director Olivier Rousteing has teamed up with yet another major brand for an exclusive new launch for the summer season. Following the likes of other designers such as Riccardo Tisci, Kim Jones and Jun Takahashi, Rousteing taps the geniuses at NikeLab for an impressive collection of black-and-gold footwear and apparel inspired by the European soccer football championships.
The new collection features several apparel options for both men and women (including a fresh take on the N98 jacket), with the footwear line featuring special editions of popular runners including the Roshe and Tiempo 94 silhouettes. “Olivier was obsessed with the complete look, making sure each piece worked together — not just within the men’s and women’s collections, but also between the two,” said Jarrett Reynolds, NikeLab Senior Apparel Design Director, in a statement. “At every design review, he’d ask, ‘Would a football player really wear that?’ That question helped keep the collection rooted in sport.”
The new NikeLab x Oliver Rousteing collection will be available online and in stores starting June 2. Take a closer look at the gold-laced offering up top in the gallery and get a behind-the-scenes look in the video below.
