The home of emerging creatives, GUAP announces the first award nominees for our inaugural GUAP GALA. We will be awarding 21 creatives from across the industry and proudly shining a spotlight on those who may not always receive the honour and praise they deserve.

The Actor To Watch category is sponsored by streaming giant Netflix, and aims to shine a light on upcoming individuals that are making waves in the film and TV industry. Also, over the past 12 months have been building up incredible momentum in their career.

Jasmine Jobson

Jasmine Jobson is an English Actress best known for her role staring as Jaq in ‘Top Boy‘ which was nominated for a British Academy Television Awards for Best supporting actress in 2020. In 2019, Jasmine was nominated for won the Best emerging talent at the Movie and Video Awards.

Samson Kayo

Samson Kayo is a British comedy actor, producer and writer. He was nominated for the British Academy Television Award for Best Male Comedy Performance in 2018 for the BBC sketch show ‘Famalam’ and in 2022 for the Sky One sitcom ‘Bloods’, which he created and wrote. He was also recently casted for the new Puss In Boots film.

Samuel Adewunmi

Samuel Adewunmi is a British actor. He won Most Promising Newcomer at the British Independent Film Awards as well as receiving a Best Actor nomination for his role in the film ‘The Last Tree’. He was nominated for a BAFTA for his role in the BBC drama ‘You Don’t Know Me‘ which has been a hit on Netflix.

Tosin Cole

Tosin Cole is an American-born British actor. He is known for various roles in British television series and films. He began his on-screen career starring in ‘The Cut‘ and ‘Eastenders: E20‘, later securing a regular role as Neil Cooper in the soap opera ‘Hollyoaks‘. He was also recently announced as the lead role for Rapman’s new Netflix series ‘Supacell’.

Precious Mustapha

Precious Mustapha was born on April 13, 1997 in Hackney, London, England. She is an actress, known for ‘The Stranger’ (2020) and Endeavour (2012). She also portrays Aisha on Precious has a role in the Netflix series, ‘Fate: The Winx Saga‘. The show is based on the animated series ‘Winx Club‘ which premiered on Nickelodeon in 2004. 

The public voting closed on the 1st August ahead of the GUAP GALA Excellence panel judging day which was hosted last week to deliberate the winners of each category. The Excellence Panel assisted with judging and lent their unique expertise to the process. The panel included heavy hitters in the creative industry such as Julie Adenuga, Darcus Beese, Aries Moross, Adjani Salmon, Dumi Oburota and Karen Blackett are the latest judges to join the panel for 2022.
