Daniel Kaluuya and Jide Osifeso Team Up to Create “NOPE” Inspired Fashion Capsule

Jordan Peele’s highly anticipated film starring Keke Palmer, Steven Yeun and Daniel Kaluuya is finally out this month, and is set to be another blockbuster for Peele who’s been making hit film after hit film.

To celebrate the release of “NOPE”, lead actor Daniel Kaluuya is working with designer Jide Osifeso to create a capsule collection of merchandise for fans. Inspired by the film’s setting at a Californian horse ranch, the hoodies and t-shirts in the collection feature printed images of the cast in the film, and pays homage to Haywood Hollywood Horses, the only Black-owned horse trainers in Hollywood.

Jide, who runs his own brand HYMNE, and has worked with Kerby-Jean Raymond at Reebok created the limited edition pieces with Daniel, who says: “There’s an evocative, understated power to Jide’s work that I’ve always admired. His designs are distinct, intimate, and of impeccable quality. Above all, his clothing is always where we are, creating a bridge between the timely and the timeless.”

Merch is available to buy on the NOPE website now.

Bad Kid Good City x Design House Eight Come Together to Fight Again Fast Fashion Practices

Sustainability has been a hot topic in the fashion industry for a while but Josh Ford and Daniel Justin Amaoko are looking at it from a different angle. They’ve come together in their first ever collaboration to create ‘Everything is Trash’, a collection that looks at fast fashion through the eyes of first-generation children of immigrants, who have long been practicing sustainability, without even realising it.

“Growing up in a first generation immigrant household with Jamaican/African parents, there are two things you never throw away – food and clothes. This is something we know many other diaspora can relate to, and why the collaboration made sense. It’s one for the culture”, they said.

The collection consists of limited edition Bad Kid Good City pieces which have all been fitted with a special patch reading: “Explore the world in me. Stop doing fashion and wear me where we’re not allowed. Wear me more than once. Wear me out. Wear me down. And then wear me again”.

Their call to action encourages people to look at old pieces of clothing with a fresh perspective, instead of throwing them away and adding to the problematic practices in the industry.

The pieces are available to buy now.
