Nigeria’s Unforgettable HOMECOMING Festival: in photos
Founded in 2017 by Grace Ladoja MBE, HOMECOMING is in its nascent era; and yet it seems to hold its own as one of the most pivotal and significant movements in the performance of live music.
Through these photos, by Nigerian photographers Oluwapelumi Andikan Edwin and Wami Aluko you can feel the intensity of the conversations and creative presence throughout – on this the festival-founder adds, “Our vision is to empower the continent’s young generation with the knowledge and resources they need to inspire and enable future innovation and growth. A 4-day cultural exchange that brings African creatives and creativity back to Africa, providing the means to take their vision to the world”.
The stage saw ArrDee, Central Cee and Black Sherif play their debut Nigerian shows, as well as performances from Fireboy DML, Rema, SGawd Deto, Lancey Foux, Asake, BOJ, TeeZee and many more.
The pop up shop also hosted the owners and creative directors from Stussy, Daily Paper, Patta, Cactus Flea Market, Motherlan; where they created exclusive designs for the festival.
