Boiler Room drop SS21 collection alongside a new season of broadcast shows
Boiler Room’s SS21 collection is here to celebrate everything that connects the global underground: music, fashion, identities, technology, and storytelling with a six-week period of broadcast shows and apparel drops.
Inspired by ravers and club culture, Boiler Room’s latest collection uses unconventional dye techniques, wholly new silhouettes and woven fabrics, to create a collection that evokes the industrial spaces that are home to Boiler Room events.
New to the core collection this season is the nylon shell pants, Boiler Rooms first woven bottoms. Built with functionality in mind, the shell pants feature zip off legs to regulate temperature, 3M piping and Boiler Room’s signature branding.
Alongside this is a show with EASTERN MARGINS that pairs intergenerational artists from the Asian diaspora to collaborate on performances, have conversations and celebrate diverse Asian identities. Boiler Room will round off the collaboration with a T-shirt designed by Eastern Margins that raises funds and awareness for the on-going struggle that East and South East Asian communities face.
You can also expect livestream show “The Third Space for Grime and Gqom”, the winning project of Boiler Room’s grant scheme Broadcast Lab. Presented by Nyege Nyege Tapes and KAMVA Collective, the project will draw a virtual bridge between musicians and dancers in Cape Town and London.
Other musicians and artists participating in the season include Hiatus Kaiyote, Eris Drew, Oklou, and more – with the full programme of broadcasts and lineups to be announced on 21 May.
The Boiler Room summer season will run until June 30.
