The North Face, Gucci & ICY Park: GUAP Picks For The New Season

The North Face, Gucci & ICY Park: GUAP Picks For The New Season

Words by Jason Kwame

As a society, we’re on the brink of turning a new leaf; no pun intended. The days are starting to alternate between glimpses of sunshine and crisp, cold temperatures. Very soon we’ll be able to enjoy the outdoors with our family and day ones with no limitations. We’ve become comfortable with rocking Fear of God Essentials sweatsuits everywhere, but the love for dressing up is slowly creeping back in.

It’s time to look ahead, get our fashion in line and switch up the wardrobe fits for the coming season. To help with that, here’s a rundown of three of our picks; the latest fashion drops and top collaborations to inform your dress sense this coming season.

North Face x Gucci Collaboration

Who said fashion must compromise comfort & utility? Stay warm and flex at the same time.

The eagerly awaited and highly requested Gucci collaboration with the staple brand for forest hiking and climbing gear, The North Face, is definitely a hit. Bringing a hybrid mix between extravagant luxury and outerwear sensibility, Gucci adds their famous “GG” and elaborate prints to quality oversized puffer jackets, tracksuits and backpacks. The original North Face logo – emblazoned on beanies and other accessories – is switched up with Gucci’s highly coveted green and red stripes.

This collaboration is one to definitely keep your eye on. Since its launch, the collection has already been co-signed and approved by Naomi Campbell, ASAP Rocky and Anthony Joshua. So yes, that means designs are already hard to get your hands on.

Beyonce’s ICY PARK collection

There’s been a recent trend in fashion that takes inspiration from clothing made for the snowy mountains and icy slopes of the upscale ski resorts. For those who hate the cold – don’t worry. It isn’t really about the skiing, it’s more about the fits and looks. After all, it didn’t happen if you don’t have a fit pic.

Beyonce’s Ivy Park for Adidas follows in this trend with the ICY PARK collection as a 2021 installation. Featuring full menswear and womenswear fits modelled by the snowman Gucci Mane, Hailey Bieber and Queen Bey herself, this collection campaign gets top marks.

A mix of sexy, sporty and fashionable street style, there’s something for everyone. Variety is an understatement; choose from a fully fluorescent fit, a patent oversized puffer jacket, to eccentric puffer mittens and scarves, blue faux fur coats, sneakers and creative 3 stripe sets for any weather.

The ICY Park collection drops on February 19th.

All eyes on Virgil’s Louis Vuitton

If there’s one place you should be looking to be informed about 2021 trends, it’s Louis Vuitton Menswear. Virgil Abloh is going all out – bringing a new “whimsical”, vibrant and creative approach to luxury fashion. With his latest FW21 and SS21 installations, he’s taking inspiration from animation characters, using vibrant colours that pay homage to Africa and the Caribbean colours and most important of all: fantasy.

From caricature like animal accessories, to coloured, diamante and see through sneakers; as odd and out there as some of the pieces are, Virgil is pushing boundaries. A door has been opened at the precipice of the luxury scene for us all to tap into our creativity when it comes to fashion. After so many months of confinement and lockdown, it’s time to tap into this new era of unapologetic creativity in our style and fashion.

We recommend checking out the latest bags and sneakers to see Mr. Abloh’s switch up of the traditional LV DNA.

Now take our guide and apply them to your new 2021 wardrobe. Thank us later…
