Beats By Dr. Dre and #Merky Books Presents: ‘HOW TO CHANGE IT’ Roundtable Talks [@merkybooks] & [@beatsbydre]
Beats By Dr. Dre and #Merky Books Present “How To Change It” Your Guide to Modern Day Activism.
Following the release of the #Merky Books “HOW TO” series, Beats by Dr. Dre and #Merky Books have teamed up on three empowering roundtable discussions. Each one is themed around a different book in the series: “How To Write it” by Anthony Anaxagorou, “How To Build it” by Niran Vinod and Damola Timeyin, and “How To Change IT” by Joshua Virasami. Designed to inspire and encourage the next generation to unlock their potential and provoke change, each discussion delves deeper into the subjects that impact youth culture at the moment.
Hosted by Dotty (Apple Music’s lead cultural curator and Apple Music host), the roundtable includes the author alongside leading established experts including Lavinya Stennett (founder of the Black Curriculum), Tanya Compas (youth worker and activist), Joy Crookes (singer/songwriter), Bolu Babalola (writer of Love In Colour) and Grace Beverley (founder of TALA).
In the first discussion, Dotty, Lavinya Stennett, Tanya Compas and Joshua Virasami cover subjects including the London Riots, how to protest, the link between rage and love, the white saviour complex, Black History Month and how to remain motivated against agents of opposition. Check it out here.
