PREMIERE: AikJ [@aik__j] enlists JyellowL [@RealJyellowL] for bold ‘Last Flight’ visuals
‘Last Flight’ is the latest visual offering from Irish talent AikJ.
Having dropped his debut project, 1992 EP, AikJ has kicked off the year with impressive visuals to ‘Last Flight’ from the project, which you can watch exclusively on GUAP today. 2020 looks to be the year for Irish talent to really stamp its imprint on the culture as the level of talent is only getting better and better. Although the track and project were released in 2019, it got a 2020 remix with fellow Irishman on the rise JyellowL who’s track ‘Ozone’ was recently added to the FIFA 20 soundtrack.
If you don’t know AikJ yet, now’s the time to get to know as he’s already achieved several playlist cover spots on Spotify as well as being featured in Apple Music’s “Best New Music” playlist. He is undoubtedly one to watch, with his years of putting in the work getting him almost a million streams on Spotify alone across his tracks. The Nigerian born, Dublin raised maestro is a boundary pusher sonically. He sits somewhere between the Pop and R&B realms, but his experimental nature has him not fitting quite into either traditional framework. It’s that fearless nature to push the boundaries that make AikJ so exciting.
We are treated to a cinematic affair in the clearly Asian inspired visuals to ‘Last Flight’. Yet the Asian influence isn’t the only one at play with clear notes of imagery and atmosphere from the horror genre at play. We follow AikJ, our lone samurai in this scenario on what appears to be an undertaking that gets sidetracked by a femme fatale. The visuals pair well with the message of the track of the uncertainties of love and how it is sometimes fleeting in nature despite its initial alluring embrace.
