Top5 with @ReginaJaiy – Collaborations

Its only a collaboration when both parties benefit from it

This week on Top5 we’re looking at five of music’s best collaborations. Now don’t shoot me, but this is list isn’t definitive. It’s the collaboration’s that for me; have made an impact on music. This Top 5 pays homage to some of the greats and might even remind us of some of our favourites although they have been and gone, their music and legacy lives on.

#1 – Nas Feat. Quan – ‘Just A Moment’

Big big big tune! It’s hip hop, its soulful, it makes sense.

#2 – Big Pun & Joe – Still Not A Player

R.I.P Big Pun, definitely a massive tune and a classic collab between Fat Joe and Big Pun. This is probably my era of music.

#3 – Aaliyah featuring Timberland

Honestly the Aaliyah/Timberland duo was iconic. That’s why I couldn’t even pick one. R’n’B will forever miss wonder about the what would have been for the princess if she was still with us. Luckily she left us with such great music… Enjoy. 🙂 R.I.P Baby Girl

#4 – Puff Daddy, Faith Evans, & 112 – I’ll Be Missing U

This is taking rather sombre tone.

Anyway, Puff Daddy (Now known as P Diddy) Faith Evans and 112 came together to pay homage to their love, and friend Notorious B.I.G

#5 – Santana featuring The Product G&B – Maria Maria

Before there was DJ Khaled, there was Wyclef Jean and Carlos Santana and his latin rock fusion band Santana. Santana, along with The Product G&B gave us the unforgettable track, Maria Maria(No its not Maria Maria that was sampled on Destiny’s Child Independent Women, although they are a little similar) Wyclef Jean and Jerry Duplessis produced the iconic hit which has gone on to be sampled by DJ Khaled in what many now know to be Wild Thoughts(I don’t ever want to hear someone ask if Maria Maria is a REMIX of Wild Thoughts!)
